Date Apr. 3, 1997A fuel injection arrangement for an internal combustion engine which has at least one combustion space and at least one intake pipe leading to this combustion space, with two fuel injection valves opening into the intake pipe upstream from at least one inlet valve. One fuel injection valve has a heater adapter. While only the fuel injection valve with the heater adapter is operated during cold start and the warm-up phase of the internal combustion engine, to a great extent, and the fuel injection valve without a heater is not in operation, a switch from one fuel injection valve to the other takes place at a point in time which is determined on the basis of the value of various operating parameters. The fuel injection arrangement is particularly suitable for use in mixture-compressing, outside-ignition internal combustion engines.
