Abstract:
1302076 Adjustable throw cranks SCHLOEMANN AG 29 June 1970 [28 June 1969] 31370/70 Heading F2K and F2Q A crank pin 3 movable by radial movement of the crank arm 2 has the play in the screw and nut adjusting mechanism taken up by a fluid pressure thrusting device. A crankshaft 4 has a flange 1 in which the arm 2 is radially slidable to adjust the throw of the pin 3 by rotation of a spindle 8 by a shaft 20 connected thereto by bevel gearing 12, 19. A screwed part 10 of the spindle 8 co-operates with a screwed bush 9 and to take up the play in this connection and piston cylinder devices 24, 25 urge the arm 2 towards the axis of rotation. As the centrifugal force of rotation opposes the force of the devices 24, 25 their operating pressure has in operation to be increased by a further piston cylinder 33, 34 mounted on a pivoted body 37 which is caused by centrifugal force to move the piston into the cylinder to increase the pressure applied to the piston cylinders 24, 25.
