Abstract:
Benzodiazepines of formula (I) (where R1, R2 and R3 = H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, hal, OH, NO2, CN, acyl, CF3, NH2, NH acyl, NH(lower alkyl), N(lower alkyl)2, O-acyl, CO2H, CO2-alkyl CONH2, CONH (lower alkyl), CON (lower alkyl)2, S alkyl, SO alkyl, and/or SO2 alkyl; R4 = H, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or phenacyl; and R5, R6 and R7 = H and/or lower alkyl) are prepd. by condensation of (II) and (III) in the presence of a base, pref. an alkali carbonate, acetate or pyridine (Q = a reactive ester residue). (I) are psychosedatives, tranquillisers, and anti-depressants.
