1402101 Colouring synthetic resins BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 14 Sept 1972 [15 Sept 1971] 42677/72 Headings C3P and C3R [Also in Division C4] Perylene pigments of the general formua wherein A and A1 are H or methyl and R and R1 are C 1 -C 12 alkyl, phenyl or aralkyl optionally substituted in the phenyl or aryl moiety by one or more Cl, Br, methyl, ethyl, methoxy and/or nitro substituents or alkyl substituted by a 5- or 6-membered hetero-cyclic ring, e.g. pyridine, furfural or picoline and wherein the perylene nucleus may contain 1-4 halogen atoms are used in Examples 2-15 to colour polystyrene and p.v.c. and in Examples 17 and 18 to colour alkyd resin modified with soya bean oil. Other substrates are polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonates, cellulose esters, polyacrylates, polyamides, p.a.c. and copolymers of styrene with butadiene, acrylonitrile and/or acrylic esters.
