Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4838229
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1339153 Polymer compositions KUREHA KAGAKU KOGYO KK 20 Aug 1971 [20 Aug 1970] 39128/71 Heading C3P [Also in Division H1] A polyvinylidene fluoride composition is prepared by adding methyl methacrylate and optionally other comonomers to a porous vinylidene fluoride polymer prepared by suspension polymerization and polymerizing the monomers within the vinylidene fluoride polymer pores so as to form a homogeneous mixture of polymers. In examples vinylidene fluoride is polymerized in water using di-n-propyl peroxydicarbonate as catalyst, residual monomer is removed and methyl methacrylate optionally with methyl acrylate is added and polymerized in the pores of the polyvinylidene fluoride using catalyst remaining from the first polymerization. The resulting polymer particles can be moulded into plates and used to make electrical components or used in fluidized bed coating of metals.
