1278844 Preparation of O-alkyllactims INVENTA AG FUR FORSCHUNG UND PATENTVERWERTUNG 17 March 1970 [18 March 1969] 12848/70 Heading C2C O-Alkyllactims having at least 10 ring members are made by reacting the corresponding N- unsubstituted lactam with more than 1 mol. of the required dialkyl sulphate per mol. lactam and thereafter treating with an aqueous alkaline solution to saponify and thereby remove unreacted dialkyl sulphate. If desired, the O- alkyllactims may be isomerized to the corresponding N-alkyllactams, e.g. in the presence of a dialkyl sulphate.
