Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4843198
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1310754 Polyurethanes BAYER AG 28 April 1970 [3 May 1969] 20296/70 Heading C3R Polyurethanes containing isocyanate groups and tertiary nitrogen atoms are prepared by reacting an aromatic polyurethane, allophanate, polyurea, biuret or isocyanurate which contains isocyanate groups and has a M.W. of less than 3000 with a polyether alcohol which is obtained by the alkoxylation of ammonia, an aliphatic amine with 2 or 3 nitrogen atoms and 1 to 4 hydrogen atoms bound to nitrogen atoms, hydrazine or a hydrazine, one or two hydrogen atoms of which are substituted by aliphatic radicals and containing at least two hydrogen atoms bound to a nitrogen atom, in an NCO/OH ratio of at least 1À4, the polyether alcohol containing at least one tertiary nitrogen atom with at least 5 ether groups between the tertiary nitrogen atom and the hydroxyl groups. Polyether polyols which do not contain tertiary nitrogen atoms may also be incorporated in the reaction mixture. The process may be carried out in polar organic solvents. The prepolymeric polyurethanes and allophanates may be prepared by reacting aromatic polyisocyanates with polyalcohols, the polyureas and biurets by reaction of aromatic polyisocyanates and water and the isocyanurates by polymerization of aromatic isocyanates. The polyether alcohol may be prepared by the ethoxylation, propoxylation or butoxylation of ammonia, dibutylamine, ylecyyclohexlamine, piperazine, ethne diamine, N,N1 - dimethyl ethylene diamine, stearylamine, methyl - bis - (3 - aminopropyl)- amine, methyl hydrazine and symmetrical and asymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine. Coatings and films may be prepared from the polyurethanes by contact with atmospheric moisture.
