Japanese Patent JPS4873590
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1381140 Finishing and inspecting fabrics HEBERLEIN & CO AG 28 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 59883/72 Heading D1S [Also in Divisions B8 F2 and G3] Apparatus for correcting weft distortions in woven fabrics and course distortions in knitted fabrics including a distortion sensing means 1 and a flexible roller 3 mounted on supports 7 at each end, is characterized in the provision of means for applying a bending moment, via one or both of the end supports 7, to the roller 3 sufficient to bend the roller and means for linearly displacing one roller end support 7 relative to the other. The bending of the roller compensates for arcuate distortions and the linear displacement for oblique distortions. The bending moment may be applied by pivoting one or both of the supports 7 and/or by linearly displacing one of the supports 7 relative to a roller bearing intermediate the ends of the roller 3. As shown in Fig. 1, distortions in the fabric 2 are sensed by sensors 1 which, via an element 4, see also Fig. 2, induce adjustment of the roller 3. For applying a bending moment to one end of the roller shaft 6, an axially displacable bearing 7 is pivotable about a fulcrum 11 by a lever 8, a spur. gear 9 and a cog 10 driven by a stepping motor 12. The motor 12 and a rack 13 are raisable and lowerable by a rack 14, a pinion 15 and a stepping motor 16 linearly displace the bearing 7. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the roller (3) is provided with an intermediate support bearing (17) which is raisable and lowerable by elements (4) which also produce bending moments. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4, the roller 3 is deflected simply by raising and lowering the bearings 7 and intermediate support bearings 17a, 17b, 17c. The roller 3, Fig. 6, may comprise a flexible sleeve 18 mounted by bearings 19 forming spaced elements on a glass fibre reinforced flexible plastics shaft 20. The Sleeve 18 is drivable independently of the shaft 20.
