Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS491332
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,270,266. Toothed gearing; clutches. LORENCE MFG. CORP. 11 April, 1969 [12 April, 1968], No. 18690/69. Headings F2C and F2Q. An input shaft 10 carries diametrically opposed eccentrics 20, 21 on which are mounted stepped gears 23, 25 each having toothed portions 29, 37 adapted to mesh fixed ring gears 30, 38 and toothed portions 33, 41 of larger diameter adapted to mesh teeth 34 of a driven ring gear 35 which carries a sprocket 44. The ring gear 35 is rotatably mounted with respect to fixed end plates 8, 18 by ball bearings 42. In a modification, gears 61, 63, Fig. 4, mesh a ring gear 67 which carries external teeth which mesh pinions 74 journalled on spindles 75. A driven ring gear 78 carries teeth which are engaged by the pinions 74. In a winch assembly, shown in Fig.6, gearing output members 101 are connected to a rotatable drum 110 through a clutch assembly 111 comprising discs 114 keyed to sleeves 103 which are splined to members 101, discs 115 carried by the drum 110, a central disc 116 secured to drum 110, annular end plates 117 and axially acting coil springs 118. The clutch may be released by liquid under pressure supplied through a central bore 124, radial bores 126, annular channels 127, and radial bores 128 to cylinders 130 housing pistons 131 which act on radial pins 132 to compress the springs 118. A brake disc 133 is secured to driving shaft 88 and is engaged by a spring-pressed ring 135 to prevent free-wheeling of the drum 110. The braking force is adapted to be released when hydraulic fluid is supplied to a motor 90.
