Japanese Patent JPS4932989
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,184,337. Bottling, &c. conveyers. CHEMETRON CORP, 10 April, 1967 [15 April, 1966], No. 16326/67. Headings B8A and B8T. [Also in Division F2] A rotary table machine for filling receptacles R with liquid comprises a tank 12, Fig. 1, fast for rotation with a support frame 13 carrying holders 41 which retain the receptacles at an angle inclined to the vertical and push them upwards against valves 39, thereby opened to allow filling by gravity. The receptacle holders 41 each slide on a pair of rods (44), Fig. 3 (not shown), on the support frame 13, and have a cam roller 54, Fig. 1, which runs over a fixed annular cam track 55 to raise, &c. the receptacles R as the machine rotates. The tank 12 is steadied on the frame 13 by a member of telescopic adjustable-length struts 31 disposed arcuately around a drive shaft 14. To allow receptacles R of different heights to be filled, the tank 12 is adjusted along the shaft 14 by turning a nut 27, simultaneously adjusting the lengths of the struts 31. The machine is driven from an input shaft 18 through gears 17, 19. Conveyers.-Receptacles R are fed on to a table 62, Fig. 2, where they are spaced by a screw conveyer 60 driven from the machine input shaft 18, Fig. 1, through gears 20, 21, a shaft 22, a gear 66, a bevel gear (not shown) and a chain 67, Fig. 2, running over sprockets 63, 65. The shaft 22 also drives a starwheel 68, which draws the receptacles R one-at-a-time across the table to a position over a lifter bar 49, Fig. 1, of one of the holders 41. As the holder 41 is cammed upwards by rotation of the machine, the receptacle R is tilted inwards to lie against upper support arms on the holder. Filled receptacles R are lowered in the tilted position on to a table comprising two plates 70, 71, the outer plate 70 being slightly higher than the inner plate 71, Figs. 7, 8 (not shown). The filled receptacles are then slidden along the table, the plates 70, 71 sloping together until at a zone 73 they are coplanar and horizontal, and thence the receptacles are conveyed from the machine along a guide 72.
