Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS496407
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1299230 Burner lance VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE AG 9 April 1970 [18 April 1969] 16987/70 Heading F4T In a burner lance comprising an outer cooling jacket 2 arranged concentrically with a burner insertion 1 and defining with it an annular canal 8 for the supply of oxygen containing gas to the nozzle mouth 3, oil is supplied to the nozzle by a conduit 22 and bores 23 and 24, and provision is made for cleaning the nozzle by use of a reversing slide arrangement 11 situated in a control block 10 by means of which a flush medium such as air or steam may be swept through conduit 25, bore 26 and out of the nozzle through bore 24. The slide piston 12, which is operated by either compressed air or water supplied through a conduit 27 has three sealing faces 13, 14, 15 which act with the slide housing 16 to selectively provide outlets for the flush medium or oil. A throttle bore 21 connected to a bore 29 acts as a safety outlet for the compressed air or water operating the slide piston. In addition, a steam pipe 9 is provided which serves to heat the oil conduit 22 and the reversing slide 11, thus ensuring immediate ignition of the oil on start up of the burner. The burner and nozzle are cooled by water supplied through tubes 4, 5 of the cooling jacket, and the nozzle may be further cooled by water supplied through conduits 32, 33 and bores 34, 35.
