Japanese Patent JPS4970819
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1404539 Heat-treating nickel alloys SPECIAL METALS CORP 24 Sept 1973 [25 Sept 1972] 44694/73 Heading C7A A cast nickel-base super alloy is homogenized at 2200 to 2400‹F to dissolve primary carbides and cooled at more than 25‹F/hour to at least 1750‹-2185‹F to preclude formation of coarse or film carbides. It is then hot worked with at least 20% reduction in cross-sectional area at 1750 to 2185‹F to precipitate fine spherical carbides. The alloy may contain C up to 0À2%, Mn up to 2À0%, Si up to 2À0%, Cr 5-25%, Co up to 23À0%, Mo up to 10À0%, Ti up to 10%, Al up to 5À0%, B up to 0À05%, Zr up to 0À5%, Fe up to 40%, one or more of Nb, Ta, Hf up to 8À0%, V up to 2À0%, W up to 10À0%, Re up to 0À5%, Group IIA metal up to 0À02%, Rare earth metal up to 0À5% and Ni at least 40À0% the balance apart from impurities.
