Abstract:
Cpds. (I) are prepd. by oxidising an amino benzo diazocine to give (II), which is then either carbonylated or thiocarbonylated (where Y is O or S, R1 and R2 are H or alkyl, rings A and B are opt. substd. by halogen, NO2, CF3, alkyl or alkoxy). In an example (I. R1 = R2 = H, Y = O, ring B is unsubstd. ring A is 9 - Cl substd.) is prepd. by reacting (II) with COCl2.
