Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4988234
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1385176 Endless track vehicles CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 28 Nov 1973 [7 Dec 1972] 55214/73 Heading B7H In a track type vehicle each end 22 of an equalizing bar 13, Fig. 1, is operatively connected to a respective one of track roller frames 17 by a lost motion connection permitting the ends to move in arcuate pattern, about a longitudinal axis, relative to the frames 17. The bar 13 is mounted to a forward end of the main frame 11 for pivotal movement about a pin 14 having its ends secured to a saddle member 12 by spaced bearing caps 15. Each end 22 of bar 13 rests on an arcuate surface 23 of a support pad 24, Fig. 1, and the end 22 has a pin 26 secured thereto and positioned between opposed bearing surfaces of bearing pads 27, 28 detachably mounted by bolts 29 to a bracket 30. The bracket may be laterally adjusted with respect to the track frame 17 to set a working clearance 23 between pin 26 and the two inboard bearing pads 27, 28. Alternatively, bracket 30 could be secured to the track frame and the blocks carrying pads 27, 28 could be adjusted accordingly. In a modification, Fig. 5, a rectangular bearing block 34 is secured on a pin 261 attached to end 22 of the bar 13 thus providing a flat surface area 35 to define a working clearance 33. Sufficient space is provided longitudinally between the bearing pads and the bar 13 and between pin 26 and bracket 30, Fig. 3, to accommodate relative rearward movement of pads 27, 28 during oscillation of the track roller frames. A pair of brackets 18, Fig. 2, are secured to the rear of frame 11 to support a pair of drive shafts 19 which have sprockets 20 for driving the tracks in a conventional manner, the frames 17 are pivotally mounted on the drive shafts at outboard pivot connections 21.
