Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5010677
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1284153 Improvements in tenderometers FEED SERVICE CORP 8 June 1970 [11 June 1969 27628/70 Heading G1S An electric motor 5 rotates slidably connected members 8, 13 driving a cutter 15 provided with blades 29. The member 13 supports a weight 14 which presses down on the cutter 15 and closes the end of a recording drum 16, and the parts 8, 13 with the drum and cutter may move downwardly when a catch 22 is removed to cut into a substance such as meat placed on the base 2. As the rotary cutter penetrates, a scriber 18 moves over the falling and rotating drum to give a tenderness reading. The blades are shaped so that the wall of the cut is supported and not re-cut by the blades and a cylindrical shaft 26 with prongs 27 may be lowered to engage the sample by loosening a ring 24 and a compressed "O" ring 25. Control gear 31 rotated in the housing 4 by the driving means 8 senses the motor revolutions and controls a switch 32 which starts and stops the motor for a specific number of turns.
