Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS50111465
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1419046 Screw-and-nut mechanism FRIEDRICH DECKEL AG 7 March 1974 [7 March 1973] 10375/74 Addition to 1191375 Heading F2Q In a mechanism comprising a screw 1 and ball nut 2 adapted to move a member 7 towards or away from the nut 2 on rotation of the screw 1, a drive wheel 15 is mounted on an extension 14 of the screw 1 and is coupled thereto by a coupling incorporating complementary interengaging surfaces 22, 23 so that when the wheel 15 is driven in either direction an axial thrust component actuates a friction brake 16, 17 for braking rotation of the shaft 1. This braking force must be overcome in addition to the resistance of the load in order to effect movement of the member 7. The coupling comprises a bush 26 secured to the extension 14 by a screw 24 and a key 25. The member 7 is secured to the screw 1 by a flange 5, located between a shoulder 9 and a nut 11 by thrust bearings 3, 4. In a modification, a multiple disc brake replaces the friction brake 16, 17.
