1329289 Attaching containers to carriers ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc 23 Dec 1970 [29 Dec 1969] 61144/70 Heading B8C A carrier 10 for containers 20 comprising a sheet of resilient material 12 having container openings 14 therein is applied by a device 22 comprising a stationary base section 24, horizontally reciprocable sections 28, 30 associated with and shiftable with respect to the stationary section 24, actuating means 32, 34 for effecting movement of the reciprocable sections and a plurality of elements 28a-28f and 30a-30f carried by and projecting from the reciprocable sections for engaging the margins defining the openings in the material so as to change the shape of the openings and thereby facilitate subsequent telescopic association therewith of a container 20.
