Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5058939
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1449982 Printing apparatus, selective printing G RITZERFELD 10 July 1974 [18 July 1973] 30535/74 Headings B6C and B6F Individual sheets or cards 8 are printed with selected lines of a printing master 2, and, in station 15, with other markings derived from a scanning of data carrier 5. The master may be prepared on typewriter 1, and a slave typewriter used to prepare the data carrier 5. The data carrier may also be used to prepare punched or magnetic tape 13 for input to computer 19. The rotary duplicator may also include settable imprinting means 7 the setting of which can be additionally recorded on tape 13. The data carrier 5 can be read magnetically, optically, mechanically or electrically. The sheets or cards carry job instructions, and the cards marked by a workman, and the so-filled cards fed to the computer to process the data thereon. Selective printing-station 15 may apply readable bar codes. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, type faces 20 corresponding to the code wherein each numeral is represented by combinations of four bars (Fig. 2, not shown) are selectively applied. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 5, type-bars 58, 58a, 58b, 58c are electromagnetically pivoted to apply such a code. The card is supported on a base and positioned by pusher 49 which is indexed as by pawl 55 to the separate printing positions. A similar arrangement is disclosed (Fig. 9, not shown) for the application of a bar-code wherein numerals are represented by a bar in one of ten positions.
