Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5070948
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
A minimum of return flow of hot air is achieved by grouping a large number of ventilators which rotate in a cylinder for increasing the air speed, and the hot air is ejected from the cooling tower as a column which prevents the winds from returning the hot air into the air inlet of the tower. This tower is suitable for cooling of fluids whose temperature must be kept within very narrow tolerances. The fluid which is cooled by means of indirect heat exchange with the ambient air is passed through a vertical tubular heat exchange zone and air is drawn in from the atmosphere through the heat exchange zone and air is expelled over the heat exchange surfaces in a group of separate vertically arranged air streams. The flow rate can be controlled by connecting or disconnecting a number of ventilators.
