1517346 Compressed gas engine MIDLANDROSS CORP 13 June 1975 [27 June 1974] 52319/77 Divided out of 1517345 Headings F1M and F1S [Also in Division F2] A CO 2 -driven gas motor has a housing 90 and radially arranged cylinders 22 each with a piston connected (in all but one case) by rods 71 to a collector member 58 freely rotatable on a crankpin 54 (axis Z). The pistons and/or the connecting rod ends are resilient so that a snap fit between them is attained whereas the rods 71 are prevented from radially outward movement from the collector member 58 solely by the use of bulbous ends fitting in the correspondingly shaped recesses. CO 2 is distributed by a rotary valve 32 turned by the left hand end of the crank-pin 54.
