Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5122113
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,238,192. Non woven fabric; lubricating fibres. BIGELOW-SANFORD Inc. 22 Oct., 1968 [14 March, 1968], No. 50189/68. Headings D1P and D1R. A non woven fabric comprises a needled sheet containing at least some thermoplastic fibres, the fibres on at least one surface 12, 13 being bonded whilst the remaining fibres are unbonded and mobile relative to one another. The sheet includes warp threads 11 adjacent one of the surfaces, the warp threads 11 having an elastic limit greater than that of the needled sheet. The web can be formed by depositing cross-lapped fibres at least part of which are of a thermopastic material on spaced unsized warp filaments, needling in one or more looms, fusing the thermoplastic surface fibres together, padding lubricant onto the web and trimming the web to the desired width. The fibres can be staple or fibrillated polypropylene or polyesters or fibre mixtures. The fibres can be crimped. The warp threads can be of cotton, polyester, rayon, nylon or polypropylene. Preferably, the fabric comprises a lubricant. The lubricant may be coconut oil, peanut oil, silicone oil or mixtures thereof, cottonseed oil, corn oil, linseed oil or tung oil. The needling can be at up to 12 stitches/inch using needles down to 0.156" dia.
