Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5123947
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1478512 Elevation-safety control GKN TRANSMISSIONS Ltd 27 June 1975 [28 June 1974] 28728/74 Heading B8L A vehicle lift comprises vehicle support arms secured to carriages vertically movable along pillars 1, 2 under the control of a screw and nut drive mechanism, a sensing means being provided responsive to obstruction to the lowering of the vehicle or carriages, to provide an output signal causing termination of the lowering of the carriages. The screw-threaded rod of one pillar is rotatable by a belt and pulley transmission from an electric motor and the remote end of this threaded rod is in chain and sprocket connection with the rod of the other pillar for simultaneous elevation of the two carriages. Each screw rod is mounted in upper and lower bearings permitting axial upward movement relative to the normal operating position, so that upon a nut being prevented from moving down the rod due to an obstruction to the passage of the vehicle, further rotation of the screw rod causes the rod to rise causing a collar adjustably secured to the rod to operate a micro-switch for de-energizing the electric motor. The motor drive circuit is further provided with bottom and top limit switches, a driving chain break safety switch and overrun safety switches.
