A

Asphalt/urethane resin compsn. for coatings and adhesives consists of (1) 0.1-4 pts.wt. asphalt, and (2) 1 pt.wt. adduct prepd. by reacting (A) polybutadiene glycol or thioglycol and (B) a polyisocyanate in such proportions that the ratio of OH or SH groups to NOC groups is 0.3 - 0.9/1 or 1.1-3.0/1. Component A has a chain contg. >80 wt.% butadiene residues and 20 wt.% comonomer residues, and a mol.wt. 200-10,000, 80 wt.% of the butadiene residues possessing the 1,2-configuration, and the chains being terminated by -ROH or -RSH groups (where Ris alkylene). Compsn. has excellent bonding properties, and can be applied at relatively low temps. Good resistance to water, corrosion and cracking, and good flexibility.
