1314896 Propanolamines BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM GmbH 21 July 1970 [23 July 1969] 35359/70 Heading C2C Racemic and optically active compounds of the general formula (R = C 1-5 alkyl; R 1 = CN, COOH, OH, NH 2 , NO 2 , CF 3 , alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl, alkyamino, dialkylamino, cyanoalkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, alkylthio, acyl, acyloxy, acylamino, aryl, aralkyl, aroxy, aralkoxy, arylamino, halogen; R 2 = H, halogen, CN, alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl or R 1+2 = 3,4-methylenedioxy; R 3 = H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy; n = 2-7) and their salts are prepared by standard methods. These compounds exhibit #-adrenolytic and hypotensive activity, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
