Abstract:
1522680 Electro-depositing bright aluminium SIEMENS AG 10 Nov 1975 [13 Nov 1974] 46443/75 Heading C7B Bright Al is electro-deposited from an organoaluminium electrolyte containing either a compound with a sulphimide, sulphonamide or carbimide group or the reaction product of such a compound with an Al trialkyl, which product includes the group > N-Al<. Specified compounds are N-benzoylbenzene sulphimide, benzene-odisulphimide, dibenzene sulphimide, o-benzosulphimide and benzene sulphonamide, which may be reacted with AlEt 3 either separately or in situ in the bath. Conventional aprotic, oxygen- and waterfree electrolytes are used to which may be added gelatine or cellulose ether. There may be regular polarity reversal during plating and the bath may be agitated, optionally intermittently with interruption of the current.
