Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5175025
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1478105 Thiophosphorus esters containing carboxymethyl groups; thio-substituted halocarboxylic esters BAYER AG 21 Oct 1975 [25 Nov 1974] 43102/75 Headings C2P and C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein R is C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 5 -C 7 cycloalkyl, C 2 -C 5 alkenyl or optionally halogen-substituted phenyl, R 1 is C 1 -C 6 alkyl or nitrophenyl, R 2 is C 1 -C 6 alkyl or optionally halogen-substituted phenyl, R 3 is alkyl, alkylthio or alkylamino each with 1 to 6 C atoms, or phenyl, and X is O or S. They may be obtained by reacting a compound in which M is H or one equivalent of an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium with a compound RSCH(COOR 1 )Hal where Hal is halogen, e.g. Cl or Br, the reaction being carried out in the presence of an acid acceptor, if appropriate, e.g. when M is H. The products have insecticidal, acaricidal and nematicidal properties and may be used as active ingredients in conventional pesticidal formulations. The compound ClCH(COOC 2 H 5 )SC 4 H 9 -tert which may be used as starting material is obtained by treating tert-butylthioacetic acid ester with sulphuryl chloride in CCl 4 under reflux conditions. Several other specific products of the general formula where R and R 1 have various specified meanings within the above definitions are also stated to be obtainable in analogous manner. The compound may be obtained similarly by using N-bromosuccinimide.
