Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5243354
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
1425189 Dispensing articles TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO KK 7 Nov 1973 [8 Nov 1972] 51653/73 Heading A4T [Also in Division B4] Apparatus for automatically dispensing blister packs e.g. of pharmaceuticals comprises a baseplate 11 for supporting a container a holding stacked strips of packs b, a discharging member 2 for advancing the strips b, means 14 for cutting off a leading portion of strip b and means 22 for actuating the cutting means 14 when the total amount of strip advance has reached a predetermined value, the container a having an opening 26 for admitting the discharging member 2 and an exit 29 for the strips. The member 2 may be supported on a pivot pin 8 of a member 1 which is reciprocated against the bias of a tension spring 80 by a solenoid 5, a spring 9 urging the member 2 into engagement between successive packs during advance, but allowing the member 2 to be retracted by pivoting on the pin 8 for return movement. The member 1 is reciprocated until a required number of packs, possibly from a series of strips b have been advanced, whereupon a present counter 28 deactivates the solenoid 5. A solenoid 22 is then actuated, pivoting a crank 21 to raise a movable blade 17 of the cutting means 14, co-operation with a fixed blade 16 effecting cut-off of the strip b. Alternatively, Fig.7, a discharge pawl 34 for advancing the strip b may be reciprocated by an oscillatory crank 33, whose oscillation is effected by connecting rods 36, 37 driven by a disc 35. When the required number of packs have been dispensed, a counter 68 de-activates a solenoid 58, causing a crank 50 to be pivoted about a pin 52 by a spring 65, so that a roller 51 pivots the pawl about a mounting pin 40 to withdraw it from a slot 12 in the base-plate 11. Actuation of a solenoid 56 causes a roller 45 to be pivoted about a pin 43, pushing a pin 42 pivoted to the crank 33 upwards, so that it contacts a portion 60 of a crank 55, thus causing the movable blade 17 to execute a cutting stroke during the following oscillatory cycle of the crank 33. Further, Fig.9, the discharging member may take the form of a bar 67 which is moved along the whole length of the base-plate 11 by a rack and pinion drive 69, 77, optical scanning means 73 being provided to stop dispensing when the predetermined number of packs have been discharged.
