1404986 Rack and pinion steering gear TRW Inc 10 Oct 1972 [9 Nov 1971] 46598/72 Heading B7H [Also in Division F2] In a steering linkage in which the seals 20 disposed between the rack tube 13 and tie rods 16 change in internal volume in inverse proportion to one another a fluid transfer tube 30 is provided to transfer fluid from one seal to the other in response to the changes in volume, the tube being ported to the interior of the seals through openings 42 in the end walls of the seals. The transfer tube 30 may be held in the opening 42 by a clamp 25.
