1460884 Chlorophenylalkanes RHONEPOULENC INDUSTRIES 6 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 19010/75 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] Chlorophenylalkanes are prepared by reacting at least one alkyl dihalide which is a dihalogenomethane, a 1,1-dihalogeno-ethane or a 1,1-dihalogeno-propane with a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon which is either (i) orthodiehlorobenzene or (ii) a mixture of orthodichlorobenzene and monochlorobenzene and/or 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene or (iii) a mixture of monochlorobenzene and 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene, in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst.
