Abstract:
Fluoropoylmer mixts. contg. (A) a copolymer constg. of the following inter-polymerisd. units: (1) =3 mol% units which are derived from a bromine-contg. olefine so that >=0.05 wt. % Br is present in the copolymer, and (2) the remainder of the copolymer consisting of units derived from components (2.1) or (2.2):(2.1) >=1 fluorine contg. monomer which is copolymerisable with component (I) and contains 2-7c no Br atom, and contains at least as many f atoms as C atoms, or (2.2) 50-99 mol. % tetrafluoroethylene, 1-50 mol. % of an olefinic 2-4C hydrocarbon and 0-30 mol. % of vinylidene fluoride and (B) 0.5-10% of an organic peroxide,w.r.t. the wt. of component (A). The fluoropolymers can be rapidly vulcanised at room temp. under normal pressure and used used to form foils, seals, O-rings, wire insulation, tubes, protective coatings, etc.
