Pharmaceutical compositions having psychostimulant, antidepressant and analgesic activity comprise, as active ingredient, an N-substituted alkanolamine of the first general formula above or a physiologically tolerable acid addition salt thereof, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, and may be administered orally, rectally or parenterally. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,119,329.
