Abstract:
1330801 Cooling air-resistance brakes INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 11 Feb 1972 [12 Feb 1971] 6441/72 Heading F2E [Also in Divisions F4 G1 and H2] Air brakes 51, 511 forming part of a submarine cable-laying equipment are cooled by fresh water in forced recirculation. The fresh water, driven by a pump (not shown) enters piping 561 and passes into heat exchanger 56, thence to the drums of brakes 51, 511 via pipe 5611; having absorbed the heat therein it passes via pipes 57, 571, reservoir 58 and pipe 59 to the pump. A second pump (not shown) passes sea water into the heat exchanger 56 through an entry pipe 60 to cool the circulatory fresh water, and discharges back to the sea via pipe 61.
