1460535 Tetrafluoroethylene polymers IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 22 April 1975 [16 May 1974] 21748/74 Heading C3P An aqueous dispersion of tetrafluoroethylene polymer comprises colloidal particles containing at least 98% of polymerized tetrafluoroethylene together with a comonomer which is a C 3 -C 10 perfluoroalkyl - trifluoroethylene and/or perfluoroalkoxy - trifluoroethylene, the particles having an inner core and an outer shell, the outer shell having a concentration of comonomer less than half that in the inner core and may be pure polytetrafluoroethylene. The products have high extrusion pressures. The polymerization may be effected using preformed particles which form the inner core or by a two-stage process.
