Abstract:
Circular saw blade is driven in indexing steps by a pair of rubber rollers disposed on either side of the blade adjacent the blade teeth. Each roller is driven by a shaft mounted in a respective support. The two supports are pivoted togther in scissor fashion and the drive to the shafts is by worm wheel and pinion, the axis of the worm wheel coinciding with the pivoting axis of the supports. Another worm wheel is driven by an oil motor and the spacing of the rollers is controlled by the axial position of a cone which limits the scissor movement and is positioned by a hydraulic piston and cylinder arrangement.
