1483269 Crystal ovens SIEMENS AG 22 Nov 1974 [4 Dec 1973] 50698/74 Heading H1E A thermostatically-controlled crystal oven comprises an outer heat-conductive casing 4, 5 and an inner heat-conductive parallelepipedal casing 1, 2 containing a crystal oscillator 3, one face of the inner casing comprising a plate 20 joined to the casing by a heat-conductive neck 19 defined by slots 13, the plate 20 being provided with one or more recesses for the heater 7 and temperature-sensing component 8 of the closed-loop control system. The plate 20 is accommodated within a complementary aperture in the wall of the outer casing 4, 5. A printed-circuit 6 for the oscillatory circuit is accommodated in the space between the two casings, and a printed-circuit 9 for the control system is attached to the plate 20. The whole system is enclosed within a cover 10 of thermoplastic material lined with an insulating foam 11. The heater 7 and temperature-sensing component 8 may be housed in the same recess, in separate recesses or in communicating recesses (see Figs. 5 to 8, not shown). The distance between these elements and between the elements and the heat-conducting neck 19 are determined by the regulating rate and loop amplification of the control system.
