PURPOSE: To improve the error correction probability of reproduction by recording digital data with time lag in two sound band of a sound multiplex TV signal, and extracting data separately and detecting an error during reproduction.

CONSTITUTION: Encoded digital data from a data generator 1 after error detection is inputted directly and through a delay circuit 2 to a multiplex modulator 3 to record data of two systems with a time difference on a video disk 6 through a video inserter and a recording device 5. During reproduction, a reproduced TV signal from a reproducing device 7 is inputted to a sound multiplex modulator 8 to separate and extract data of two systems, and one data is selected through a control circuit 14 and switches 9 and 10 to check on the occurrence of an error through an asynchronous receiving circuit 11 and an error detecting circuit 12; when an error is found, the other data is reproduced through an error flag register 13 and the reproducing device 7 and the error is corrected. Thus, error correction probability is improved.
