PURPOSE: To enable measurement in natural conditions without deformation due to fixation, and reduction of errors in measurement of a load and displacement, by a method wherein a connecting terminal having a U-shaped cut is lightly held and a U-shaped cut spring is pressed on both sides by hooks.
CONSTITUTION: An U-shaped cut connecting terminal 4 is pressed lightly on both surfaces by a sample retaining spring 8a of an X-direction table 8 which is provided on an XY table 7 which is movable in the directions XY, and can be adjusted finely in the direction X. By rotating a rotary lever 13, the spring part of the U-shaped cut connecting terminal is fixed on the XY table 7 by a movable hook 10 through the intermediary of a fine feeding mechanism 12. Then, a pressure is applied from the direction opposite to a fixed hook 9. A pressing force applied to the movable hook 10 is detected by a strain gage 11 and read by a device 11a such as a digital voltmeter, etc. The state of displacement of the U-shaped cut connecting terminal 4 is measured by an optical measuring device 15 wherein a digital micrometer is fitted to the ocular part of a microscope.
