Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a silver halide color photosensitive material high in sensitivity and superior in graininess, by using a novel blocked magenta dye forming coupler.

CONSTITUTION: A blocked magenta dye forming coupler represented by general formula (I) is used. In formula (I), Q is a nonmetallic atomic group for forming a magenta dye forming coupler together with N and the coupler is known pyrazolotriazole, pyrazolobenzimidazole, and indazolone, R1CHCONHR2 is a blocking group, and after reaction with the oxidized developer, it is released, R1 is a monovalent group, preferably, carboxy, cyano, nitro, or acetyl, and R2 is H, alkyl, amino, or acyl.
