Title:
PREPARATION OF CARBONYL COMPOUND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58109442
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound without producing by-products nor necessitating purification process nor corroding the apparatus, in high yield, by contacting an olefin having large carbon number, e.g. butene, with molecular oxygen at low temperature in the presence of a specific catalyst obtained by adding tellurium etc. to palladium.

CONSTITUTION: An olefin, preferably a 2W12C monoolefin, especially a straight- chain monoolefin is made to contact with molecular oxygen at 50W200°C, preferably 80W150°C in the presence of water or steam, using a solid catalyst containing metallic palladium or its compound and one or more metals selected from the group of tellurium, selenium, antimony, and bismuth or their compounds to obtain the objective compound. The amounts of Te, Se, Sb and Bi in the above catalyst are 0.001W10g-atom, especially 0.05W5g-atom each per 1g-atom of Pd.
