PURPOSE: To provide a positive electrode of a secondary battery having good storage performance by bonding a specific high polymer to a current collector with carbon paste and covering the surface of the current collector which is in contact with an electrolyte with carbon to prevent dissolution or corrosion of the metal of the current collector.
CONSTITUTION: A high polymer such as polyacetylene which consists of hydrogen, fluorine, and carbon and a π electron of carbon of a main chain is conjugated with a π electron of two carbons bonding to the carbon of the main chain and is not localized, is used as a positive electrode for a secondary battery. This high polymer 3 is bonded to a current collector 4 with carbon paste 5. The surface of the current collector which is in contact with an electrolyte is covered with the carbon paste 5 to form the positive electrode for a secondary battery. The dissolution or corrasion of the metal of the current collector 4, and decomposition of a solvent are prevented with a carbon layer 5. Therefore, the secondary battery having less self-discharge is provided.
