Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of detection of the foot type transmission, and to reduce the number of parts by detecting a shift position by the detector set up to the cam surface of the end surface of a shift drum and a transmission case. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of lead grooves 10A-10C are formed to the outer circumference of the shift drum 8, and the dowels 12 of the base sections of shift forks 11A-11C are connected to the lead grooves. When the shift drum 8 is turned by stepping, the predetermined shift forks 11A-11C are moved, and the speed of the transmission 7 is changed. The detecting pin 161 of the gear- position detector 16 set up to the transmission case 2 is contacted with the cam surface 15 formed to the end surface of the shift drum 8. Shift positions are displayed in response to the positions of stoppage of the shift drum 8.
