PURPOSE: To detect the abnormality of a water discharge facility and a gate opening meter in early period by a method in which the water level of a dam after a monitoring period is predicted from the water level, incoming amount, and discharge amount of the dam water and then compared with measured water level in the next watching period.
CONSTITUTION: The water incoming amount Qi and level H of a small-scale dam, e.g., the regulating pond of hydroelectric power plant, etc., are grasped by a von Karman filter, etc., discharge amount Qo is calculated from the dam water level H and the opening degree of a water discharge equipment, and the amount V of water stored is grasped by V-H curves. When making a fixed period monitoring, at each monitoring time, the predicted water level Hn+1 at the next monitoring time is calculated from Hn+1={[Va+(Qin-Qon).t]- b}/a. Then, the predicted water level Hn+1 is compared with actual water level measured by a water guage in the next monitoring time. If they coincide with each other, the discharge facility and the opening meter are normal, but when no coincidence is observed, they are determined as abnormal. Thus, the abnormality can be detected in early period and the situation is informed to operators.
