PURPOSE: To prepare a fine particle filter free from clogging at an early stage, by a method wherein a porous metal body is subjected to cutting or melt cutting processing to form a disc like porous metal filter having a central opening and a filter element formed by stacking a plurality of said disc like porous metal filters are fixedly attached to a casing having an inlet and an outlet.
CONSTITUTION: A thin plate like porous metal body 10 having a network structure is prepared and a porous metal filter 12 having a central opening 11 is punched out by the cutting or the melt cutting processing of said porous metal body 10. Plural filters 12 are stacked on a holding plate 14 having plural central openings 13 and integrated therewith to form a filter element 15. This filter element 15 is connected to a case 18 having an inlet 17 to form a fine particle filter 19.
