Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the reaction efficiency of water-hydrogen exchange reaction by bringing gaseous hydrogen into contact with liquid water in the presence of hydrophobic catalyst packed in a network structure.

CONSTITUTION: Hydrophobic catalyst consists of, for example, styrene-divinyl benzene copolymer, etc. as carriers with platinum deposited thereon, and the shape thereof is spherical, pellet, etc. The network structure which enclose the hydrophobic catalyst is the structure that permits the permeation of gas such as hydrogen or steam but prohibits the permeation of liquid water, and the shape thereof is, for example, Dickson packing sbape, etc. and the material thereof consists of stainless steel, plastics, etc. The size of the mesh opening is about ≤60 mesh, more preferably about 80W120 mesh, and the size of the structure is made about 2W5 times the size of the catalyst to be packed.
