Title:
SHIP EQUIPPED WITH VANE-WHEEL PROPELLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58136590
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent rolling and pitching of a hull and control tilt of the hull not only during navigation but during stoppage by installing the fin for generating a dynamic lift on each vane of a vane-wheel propeller in the ship-bottom part and installing a fin incident angle adjusting mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: Right and left vane-wheel propellers 2 in pairs in the rear ship- bottom part of a hull 1 are constituted of a rotor 2a revolved around a vertical shaft line and a plurality of vanes 3 which are extended downward and rotatably supported with its shaft onto the peripheral edge part of the rotor 2a, and each vane 3 is equipped with a fin 5 rotatably installed onto the lower edge of the vane 3 through a horizontal shaft 4. An incident angle adjusting mechanism for the fin 5 is constituted of the horizontal shaft 4, sliding member 6, and a drive control member 7. Rolling and pitching of the hull is reduced by generating a dynamic lift onto the fin 5 of each vane-wheel propeller 2. Further, the vane- wheel propeller 2 revolves without generating a thrust, through adjusting the incident angle of the vane 3, and the swing reducing effect can be obtained by the action of the fin 5, keeping the hull in stoppage.
