PURPOSE: To prevent the formation of stripes due to the deposition of toner and a abrasion flaw and to maintain a picture of high quality for a long period, by using superhigh polymer polyethylene resin having >1,000,000mol.wt. for the contacting part of a layer thickness specifying means with a developer.
CONSTITUTION: The layer thickness specifying means 5 consists of a supporting plate 9 of a magnetic material fixed to a fixing member 8 and a specifying plate 10 adhered thereto, and the specifying plate 10 is made of superhigh polymer polyethylene resin with >1,000,000mol.wt. The specifying plate 10 is pressed hardly against a sleeve 4 to control a toner layer to an extremely small thickness. Specially, when high resistance toner is used, the pressing force should be high and the formation of stripes due to the deposition of toner and a flaw in the plate 10 deteriorates the picture quality conventionally, but said superhigh polymer resin has superior wear resistance and releasing properties, so the formation of stripes is prevent to maintain excellent picture quality for a long period.
