PURPOSE: To execute uniform cleaning without damaging the surface of a photoreceptor, by providing a means for rotating and driving the photoreceptor drawn out to the outside of the body by sliding and moving it on an extendable supporting shaft.

CONSTITUTION: When taking out a photoreceptor 1 to the outside of a machine and cleaning its surface, an additional joint shaft 45 is screwed to a supporting shaft 30 of the photoreceptor 1 and the photoreceptor 1 and a cleaning device 19 formed one body with it are slided on the joint shaft 45 to be drawn out to the outside of a body 2. Subsequently, the motor is started to rotate the photoreceptor 1 at a low speed, and to clean its surface together with the supporting shaft 30, the joint shaft 45. In this case, the cleaning device 19 is not separated but is rotated underneath the photoreceptor 1 to clean it and to reduce the possibility of damaging the surface of the photoreceptor 1 remarkably, and to obtain a uniform cleaning. Since the opening of the cleaning device 19 is positioned facing upward, a toner does not spill.
