PURPOSE: To esaily convert limestone to quicklime, to elevate productivity of sintered ores and its quality, and also to suppress NOx in exhaust gas, by charging sintered mixing materials and limestone to which fuel has been added and mixed in advance, into a pallet in the shape of a layer, and igniting and sintering them.
CONSTITUTION: Materials such as iron ores, powder coke, scale, limestone, etc. are mixed in a prescribed ratio, and are humidified and granulated, by which mixed materials are obtained, and they are charged into a pallet of a sintering machine. On the other hand, the limestone and fuel are mixed by a mixing machine, are charged in the shape of a layer so that they are not mixed with the mixed materials charged onto the pallet, and are ignited and sintered. The limestone is burned by heat of formation of sintering of the mixed materials, and added fuel, and is converted to quicklime. Sintered ores obtained by the sintering machine are crushed and sieved, and after that, are stored. As for said added fuel, that which contains a carbon quantity of ≥ about 30%, such as powder coke, etc. is desirable, and as for the quantity of fuel to be added into the limestone, effective carbon of about 2W6% is desirable.
