Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a waste water treatment apparatus, wherein use is made of a carrier having a specific gravity lower than that of the waste water in question and also use is made of a fluidized bed to separate off microorganisms adhered to the carrier so that the separation of excess sludge from the carrier can be secured, and the treatment of the waste water is rapidly effected. CONSTITUTION:Waste water is introduced into a fluidized bed tank 1 of sealed construction, and flows downward thereof through a sprinkling plate 3 which also serves to suppress floating of a carrier having a specific gravity of less than 1. The movements of the carrier 4 are balanced at an intermediate of a cone-shape portion by its buoyancy and downward flow to form a fluidized intersurface. This fluidized intersurface is associated with through a detector 6, the control of the flow rate of the waste water to be fed. When excess sludge has adhered to the sludge and inclined to submerge below the fluidized intersurface, the stir by stirring blades 8 separates the excess sludge from the carrier, and therefore the carrier will be returned again to the fluidized bed, while the separated sludge will be settled in a settling tank 5. The treated water is delivered through a falling water prevention pipe 10 to a treated water tank 11 to be discharged. The present method is preferably used in anaerobic digestion treatment.
