PURPOSE: To make it unnecessary to provide with a data controller for exclusive use, by changing optionally the sequence of expression of year, month, and day of date data.

CONSTITUTION: If a switch B-1 constituting a specification changeover switch 7 is turned on when the print of the date is instructed by a function key of a keyboard 4, day data is set in buffer memories PB7 and PB8 of a print buffer 8, and month data is set in buffer memories PB4 and PB5, and year data is set in buffer memories PB1 and PB2. Next, when the print command of a CPU1 is applied to a controller 9, data of the buffer 8 are sent to a printer 10 and are printed in the order of the day, the month, and the year. Meanwhile, if a switch B-2 is turned on, month data is set in memories PB7 and PB8, and day data is set in memories PB4 and PB5, and year data is set in memories PB1 and PB2, and date data is set in the order of the month, the day, and the year.
